The Honeymooners made their first televised appearance in Jackie Gleason's first variety series, the Cavalcade of Stars, on October 5, 1951. It was a live broadcast on the DuMont Network. It ran for 39 episodes, all of them available on dvd. Check out some vido clips here.

Here Comes Hoyt

In 1949 the fledgling Dumont Television Network in New York City hired unemployed silent film star Fred Humunculus to star in a series of short, two minute comedy segments entitled "Here Comes Hoyt!," in order that they might fill in time between broadcasts of boxing and midget wrestling. Enjoy this clip, which was thought to have disappeared.
